
Educated in the UK & the US, Mr. Nasser Munjee’s entire career has spanned the creation of financial institutions in India. His career began with the creation of the first mortgage company in India – the ‘Housing Development Finance Corporation’ (HDFC) where he was associated for twenty years, rising to be its Executive Director. He then moved on to create a new institution for infrastructure finance, which led to the creation of the ‘Infrastructure Development Finance Company’ in joint partnership with government and both domestic and international institutions, wherein he took over as Managing Director and CEO for seven years.
Post this experience, he decided to use his experience as advisor or non-executive director. He is presently on the Board of ten public companies in India, a few internationally and also involved with several other institutions as Chairman, Board Member or Trustee such as HDFC Limited, DCB Bank Ltd., Cummins India Limited, Ambuja Cements Limited (Holcim Group), Tata Chemicals Ltd., Tata Motors Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover Plc, UK, Advisory Board of the City of London, Executive Committee of the World Islamic Economic Forum, Aga Khan Foundation (India) & Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) to name a few.
